Help the children understand that Jesus is not physically with us, as He was with Peter, but He is still very much with us. Just as Peter reached out and called to the Lord for help, we can call to the Lord in prayer for help. Give your child a copy of the attached drawing and a sheet of buff paper. Have the children trace one hand three times on the paper. Children should cut out two of the hands and glue them into the boat on the drawing (their fingers will be 10 of the 12 disciples). Then the children need to cut off three of the fingers from the third hand and glue one of them into the boat for the eleventh disciple. The other two “finger” people get glued outside the boat on the water to represent Peter and Jesus.
